Benefits Coordinator

Job Description

  • Administer all employee benefit programs including, but not limited to health insurance, life insurance, tuition assistance, and flexible spending plans.
  • Responsible for leave administration, including basic medical and family care
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely communication to employees regarding their eligibility for federal and state mandated leaves (eg.  FMLA, Worker’s Compensation, miscellaneous state leave laws).  
  • Must be able to analyze leave, approve and enter in SAP in accordance with policy.  
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate payment of Paid Time Off and wage replacement.
  • contact for benefit eligibility & enrollment questions and processing for US and Canada.   
  • Responsible for timely COBRA administration, ensuring biweekly Qualified Beneficiary report and monthly DOL report are sent to third party administrator in accordance with regulations.  Answer questions participants my have regarding COBRA.
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relations by ensuring that all verbal, telephone and written inquiries and requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.  
  • Provide phone coverage in the afternoons and back up as needed.
  • Responsible for collating benefit enrollment packages, forms, and orientation folders to ensure availability for orientations as needed.  Conduct comprehensive benefits orientations for new Home Office employees and Shop Managers.
  • Responsible for timely distribution of Open Enrollment communications, SPDs and other benefit materials required to be distributed to plan participants.
  • Verify accurate data entry of field New Hires, Rehires and Changes.  Backup for data entry during holiday and other times as needed.
  • Maintain/Update HR Reference Sheet and HR Manual as needed.
  • Pay range: $15.70 - $16.85
